Modular buildings for Iraq, engineered in Türkiye.
Ankara'dan Bağdat, Basra, Erbil ve ötesine gönderilen sağlık, askeri ve konut üniteleri. Every consignment cleared through COSQC-authorised conformity routes. Lead time 8 to 16 weeks depending on scope.
Why Iraq partners with Turkish modular manufacturers
Iraq has been one of the largest recipients of Turkish construction services for over five decades. According to the Turkish Trade Ministry, Turkish contractors have delivered construction work worth over USD 36 billion in Iraq since 1972, placing the country in the top three destination markets alongside Russia and Turkmenistan.
The reasons are geographic and industrial. Turkey shares a 367-kilometre border with Iraq. Road shipment from Turkish factories to Baghdad, Basra, Erbil or Mosul is faster and cheaper than shipment from Europe, the Gulf or China. Turkish manufacturers also understand the technical and regulatory environment: desert climate specifications, seismic requirements in northern Iraq, and the COSQC conformity process.
Modular buildings Iraq projects typically fall into four categories: healthcare infrastructure (regional hospitals, clinics, field hospitals for reconstruction areas), defence and security (command posts, accommodation for federal and Peshmerga forces), oil and gas camps in Basra, Kirkuk and the KRG region, and mass housing for displaced population return programmes.
Irak'a yapılan gönderiler için COSQC uyumu
All regulated product imports into Iraq require a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by a COSQC-authorised certification body before shipment. The programme, known as ICIGI (Import Conformity Inspection for Goods into Iraq), has been in force since January 2020 and applies to construction and building materials alongside other regulated categories.
Authorised certification bodies include Intertek, TÜV Rheinland, HQTS, Applus+ and several others. Each shipment to Iraqi ports and borders is subject to destination inspection on arrival. structmod coordinates with accredited inspection bodies as a standard part of the export workflow — the CoC is prepared pre-shipment, referenced against the commercial invoice, and accompanies the consignment to customs.
Separate compliance frameworks apply to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRG) through the Consignment Based Conformity Assessment (CBCA) programme. Importers clearing goods at Ibrahim Khalil, Haji Omran or other KRG border points should confirm which scheme applies to their consignment.

Frequently asked questions
How long does shipment from Türkiye to Iraq take?
Road freight from our Ankara factory to Baghdad typically takes 4 to 7 days depending on border conditions at Habur (Ibrahim Khalil). Delivery to Basra adds another 2 to 3 days. Flat-packed modular units ship on standard 40-foot trailers and we coordinate customs clearance with the importer of record.
COSQC sertifikasyonu teklifinize dahil mi?
Yes. We treat the Certificate of Conformity as a standard line item in every quotation. Our team works with Intertek, TÜV Rheinland and other COSQC-authorised bodies depending on the product category and the importer's preference. The CoC is prepared pre-shipment so the consignment clears Iraqi customs without delay.
Can you deliver to the Kurdistan Region (KRG)?
Yes, frequently. KRG consignments clear customs at Habur/Ibrahim Khalil under the Kurdistan CBCA programme. We have delivered healthcare, accommodation and oil-camp projects to Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Duhok. Our logistics coordinator can advise on whether your specific project falls under the federal CoC scheme or the KRG CBCA scheme.
Are your modular hospitals suitable for Iraqi climate conditions?
Yes. We specify sandwich panels with enhanced thermal insulation for the summer heat (50°C+ design temperature in southern Iraq) and cold northern winters. HVAC plant is sized for the actual climate zone at the project site. For projects specifying dust-sealed envelopes (common for healthcare), we use polyurethane-core panels and sealed door / window assemblies.
